Walton County Florida Bicentennial Community Art Project

Happy 200th anniversary, Walton County!

Walton County was organized by European Americans in 1824. It was named for Colonel George Walton Jr., secretary of the Florida Territory from 1821 to 1826.

The Cultural Arts Alliance asked Andy to lead a community art project as part of Walton County’s bicentennial celebration at North Beach Social. He prepped two wood panels, each 8x4-ft, which made an 8x8-ft diptych. Those who attended the celebration on April 21st were invited to paint something on the panels that they felt represented the county. After the event, Andy added the final touches, as seen below.
