Andy Had a Beard Before It Was Cool
Although Andy had a beard before it was cool, he hasn't always had a beard. In fact, he was clean shaven throughout his childhood. After all, facial hair would have surely violated elementary school rules.
Shortly after Andy graduated high school in 1995, he grew his first beard. It took approximately five hours, give or take. Ha! But seriously, I think it grew in over night.
Andy has had facial hair for the past 20 years, with the exception of a break he took between 1998-2002. I guess you could say he had a beard before it was cool. A real trendsetter, that Andy.
The earliest photo I could find where Andy's beard makes an appearance was on a trip he took to San Francisco in September 1996. He's barely aged since then! Good genes and whatnot. In case you're wondering, this San Francisco trip was primarily to skateboard.
Fun Fact: In the mid-1990s, Andy was sponsored by two local skate companies (Push Skateboards and Beach Plus, which is now known as Plus Skateshop in Fort Walton Beach). He even designed Push Skateboard's first logo.
Andy keeps his beard short and tidy, which is what his wife (yours truly) prefers. But if he ever did grow it out, he might try out some Isaiah Webb inspired styling.
